Blue Roses
This painting was commissioned by Makala Shankle. She wanted dark blues, grays, and hints of blush. This painting is different than a lot of my other work. I used a palette knife rather than a paint brush. I used two different sized palette knives depending on the color and area of the painting. I wanted the different colors of blush to fade down into the painting while the darker blues and grays take over. The painting symbolizes the literary "Blue Rose" which means love, prosperity, and or immortality.
This is a 36x48 painted with acrylics.
